US intelligence agencies say they may never be able to establish the beginning of Covid-19, but they have deduced it was not created as a biological weapon.

In an updated evaluation of where the virus started, the Office of the US Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) declared an animal-to-human transmission and a lab leak were both credible theories for how it spread.

But there was not adequate facts to reach a final conclusion.

China has denounced the report.

The discoveries were made public in an officially declare report which is an modernized of a 90-day review that President Joe Biden’s administration published in August.

It stated that the intelligence community remains separated on the most likely genesis of the virus. Four agencies evaluate with “low confidence” it had emerged with an infected animal or a connected virus.

Yet one agency said it had “moderate confidence” that the first human infection presumably was the result of a laboratory mishap, very likely connecting experimentation or animal handling by the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The official document also said Chinese authorities were not aware of the reality of the virus before the First outbreak of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan, in late 2019. Yet it stated that China was continuing to retard the global inquiry and to withstand sharing information.

Chinese Officials suggest a connection of early Covid-19 cases to a seafood market in Wuhan, leading researchers to theories that the virus first passed to humans from animals.

Still earlier this year, US media reports proposed growing proof the virus could alternatively have appeared from the Wuhab laboratory, possibly through an accidental leak.

In the month of May, President Biden directed intelligence officials to inquire the virus’s genesis, in addition to the lab leak theory, which is dismissed by China.

Reacting to the intelligence declaration, the Chinese embassy in Washington said in a affirmation to Reuters news agency:

“The US moves of depending on its intelligence structure instead of researchers to find the origins of Covid-19 is a complete political satire.

“We have been supporting science-based efforts on origins tracing, and will continue to stay actively engaged. That said, we firmly oppose attempts to politicize this issue.”

About 240 million cases of Covid-19 have been firmly established around the world, accompanied by more than 4.9 million deaths.
