TLC’s T-Boz is being crowned a digital “Creep” for reportedly striving to ignite again the flames of violent anger between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.
A waterfall of social media shadow is falling on the 51-year-old
“Crazy, Sexy, Cool”
crooner following reportedly crafting a enigmatic remark concerning Minaj, 38, underneath an Instagram post about Cardi B, 29, publicly recommending for black women outside a Miami nightclub over the weekend.
“Poor Nicki Minaj,”
wrote the substantiated Instagram account for T-Boz, née Tionne Watkins, on Sunday. The controversial remark — add punctuation to a string of laughing emojis — was at first penned to pop culture blog The Jasmine Brand, still went viral across a large group of digital profiles on Instagram and Twitter.
And confused fans of both Minaj and Cardi’s spontaneously presumed that the ’90s girl group legend’s statement was meant to provoke an old beef between the two rappers — whose dissimilarity reached a fever pitch at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party in the course of New York Fashion Week in 2018.
“T-Boz you are too f – – king old you old messy b – – ch!” chimed a cyber critic on Twitter.
“T-Boz better stay her a – – in the 90s and stop worrying about [people] who actually own the rights to their music,”
typed another critic, cunningly and harshly criticizing the Grammy winner over TLC’s many years struggle for ownership of their masters.
Nonetheless T-Boz quickly hit back, maintaining that her Instagram had been made vulnerable.
“ACCOUNT WAS HACKED!!”
the “No Scrubs” chanteuse said in a written PSA posted on her Instagram account in the middle of the backlash.
“Hey guys my account has been hacked and I never made that comment about Nicki Minaj I have no problem with her at all,”
“That’s not like me to even comment on a blog and be messy so all the blogs and unnecessary comments can stop thank you.”
T-Boz resumed her appeal of guiltlessness on Twitter, asserting her profile had been compromised while she was on a Zoom call. And she surprisingly offered up a possible suspect in the caper, saying the man that she think to be behind the confusion had severally communicated her, pretending to be Minaj’s official representative.
“This dude keeps calling my phone pretending to be Nicki’s publicist,”
the R&B boomer claimed in a tweet.
“My Account Was hacked he probably did it.”
Nevertheless a few social media cynics weren’t so quick to accept the “FanMail” musician’s excuses.
“Please explain to me why out of all of people, we would choose T-Boz to hack and shade Nicki. Like there are so many relevant people to choose from and you think we using T-Boz to start something?? Y’all are really unhinged lmao,”
one doubtful tweeter wrote.
“Chileee it’s 2021 .. who in the h*ll is hacking T-Boz IG account out of all people … you got caught and now the barbz are your neck,”
said another, pointing to Minaj’s revengeful fan base.
T-Boz did not reply to The Post’s request for response.
Still supporters did come to the
“What About Your Friends”
singer’s defense, saying:
“T-Boz didn’t deserve this. She [for real] sounded like she got hacked.”
Not either Nicki Minaj nor Cardi B has publicly expressed reaction on the T-Boz bedlam.
