Pete Davidson partook in a relaxed walk around Far North Queensland on Saturday subsequent to streaming into Australia without his better half Kim Kardashian.
The previous Saturday Night Live joke artist, 28, who is Down Under shooting the film Wizards!, dressed nonchalantly and modeled for selfies with fans on the Cairns Esplanade.
The locating comes after the chief of the Botanica bistro dishonestly guaranteed to nearby media that Davidson and Kardashian, 41, had eaten at his eatery.
Davidson covered up his heavily tattooed chest in a blue T-shirt and hooded sweater, which he teamed with purple workout shorts and white sneakers.
He added a blue New York Yankees cap and carried just his iPhone on the solo stroll.
The New York-born funnyman sported a neutral expression he posed for selfies with fans.
He is set to join Orlando Bloom, Naomi Scott, Franz Rogowski and Sean Harris in Wizards!, a new film by Australian writer-director David Michôd.
Wizards! will follow two hapless pothead beach-bar operators, played by Davidson and Rogowski, who run into trouble when they stumble across stolen loot that they really should have just left alone, reports Deadline.
The sighting comes after the manager of the Botanica café in Cairns falsely claimed to local media that Davidson and Kardashian had dined at his restaurant last week.
ABC Far North was the first outlet to report on the couple visiting Queensland.
The website claimed to have spoken to manager Matt Black about his alleged encounter with the pair last Wednesday, but later deleted its article after Daily Mail Australia debunked the story.
However, the ABC was far from the only publication to report on the sighting that never occurred, as most of the Australian media did the same.
After a flurry of local press coverage, the alarm was first sounded when it emerged Kardashian had been pictured in LA last Tuesday – just hours before she was supposedly seen brunching 11,000km away in Far North Queensland.
Mr Black spun an elaborate yarn about Kardashian and Davidson’s security team allegedly asking café staff to place their phones on the counter for the duration of the pair’s date so no one could take photos of them while they were dining.
Mr Black did stress, however, that the couple and their entourage were ‘super cool and respectful’ to all staff members.
However, a representative for Davidson shot down this fake account, saying: ‘Pete is currently in production in Australia without Kim.’
A source close to Kardashian also confirmed she hadn’t been in Australia in years.
Mr Black later broke his silence to insist he was simply a ‘larrikin’ and that it was all ‘a joke that backfired’.
