Blinding Lights by Canadian pop star The Weeknd is now the number one song of all time on Billboard’s music charts.

As stated by Billboard, Blinding Lights has now spent 90 weeks in the top 100 chart.

The song expelled Chubby Checker’s 1960s hit The Twist to secure the top spot.

The Billboard 100 has been charting top songs as stated by radio plays, sales and streaming for the past 63 years.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, released Blinding Lights in November 2019. By September 2021, it had been streamed over 2.5 billion times on Spotify.

Its approval has been assisted by a TikTok dance challenge at the time of epidemic and The Weeknd’s performance during the Super Bowl half-time show in 2021.

Paradoxically, ‘The Twist’ by Chubby Checkers was as well a dance craze yet has now been downgraded to second place.
